1. Vastareas are arid or semi desert , unsuitable for settlement. 2. The sanctuary lies in the ecological zone of the semi desert region. 3. The reserve is semi desert , dotted with isolated hills and plentiful springs. 4. The Terek-Kuma semi desert has dry climate. 5. Shuanghu County vast land, few people, cold and dry climate is semi desert grass. 6. Between 1500 and 1800 masl, the conditions begin to change from semi desert to temperate forest. 7. The higher peaks have forests of conifers and oaks while the drier lowlands have semi desert vegetation. 8. Although not a desert, it is a semi desert arid area in most of its parts. 9. Fuerteventura and Lanzarote the islands which are closest to the African mainland are effectively desert or semi desert . 10. The area is a transitional zone between semi desert , savanna, and shrubland and receives less than annual rainfall.
